Terms and conditions
Version 1, published 14 October 2026.
These terms apply to every order you place with Freshly Laced. You accept them when you book.
1. Who we are
Freshly Laced is a trading name of Wehan Jansen van Rensburg, a sole proprietor.
- Address: 30 Ermelo Street, Wierdapark, Centurion, 0157, Gauteng
- Phone and WhatsApp: +27 71 962 0027
- Email: info@freshlylaced.co.za
- Website: freshlylaced.co.za
We're not registered for VAT. The prices you see include every fee.
2. The service
You book and pay online, drop your shoes at a Bob Box locker, and we collect them, clean them at our facility and return them to a locker for you to collect.
- Each pair gets one clean, Standard or Deep, plus any add-ons you choose.
- Suede and nubuck always get the Deep clean.
- Our prices are on the website and in your order.
3. Booking and payment
- You pay the full price online when you book. Payments are handled by Bob Pay; we never see your card details.
- You can check and correct your order before you pay.
- Once your payment is received, we reserve your locker and send your drop-off PIN.
- An order that isn't paid in time is cancelled automatically, and nothing is charged.
4. Dropping off
- Bag your shoes and drop them at the locker you chose, using your PIN, before the deadline in your message.
- If you miss the deadline, the locker is released. Contact us and we'll book you a new locker at no extra cost.
- Please only send the pairs you booked. If there are extra pairs, we'll contact you to add them to your order or return them uncleaned.
5. Inspection and changes to your order
- We inspect every pair before cleaning and record any visible damage or wear.
- If a pair turns out to need a different clean than you booked, for example it's suede, we clean it the right way at no extra charge.
- Any other change to your order, such as adding a pair or an add-on, happens only with your agreement. We'll email you what changed and any amount due or refunded. If there's a balance to pay, your shoes come back once it's paid.
6. Turnaround and collection
- We aim to have your shoes back in a locker within 2–3 working days of drop-off. This is an estimate, not a guarantee.
- We send your collection PIN when they're in the locker. Please collect within 3 days.
- If you don't collect in time, our driver brings your shoes back to our facility. Re-delivery then costs R50, which you can pay online. Once it's paid, we book a new locker and send you a new PIN.
7. Uncollected shoes
- Shoes brought back to our facility are kept safely for 30 days, and we'll remind you before that time is up.
- You can also arrange to collect them from our facility.
- If you haven't paid for re-delivery or arranged collection within 30 days, we'll donate the shoes.
8. Our guarantee
If you're not happy with the clean, tell us within 48 hours of collecting and we'll clean them again for free.
9. Damage and liability
- Cleaning can't fix everything. Some marks, stains, yellowing and wear won't come out.
- We're not responsible for damage caused by a shoe's age, wear or condition, such as soles or glue coming loose, cracking, or dyes that run.
- If we damage a pair through our own fault, we'll pay you up to R500 for that pair.
- This limit doesn't apply to loss caused by our gross negligence, and nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
10. The lockers
The lockers are run by Bob Box. Keep your PINs private: anyone with a PIN can open the compartment. Lockers can only be used during the trading hours of the centre they're in.
11. Cancelling and refunds
See our Refunds and cancellations policy.
12. Messages
We send order updates by email, and by WhatsApp once that's available. Reply to any of them to reach us.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version you accepted when you booked applies to your order.
14. Complaints
Please contact us first and we'll try to put things right. If we can't, you can contact the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud. South African law applies to these terms.
