Privacy policy

We collect only what we need to clean and return your shoes, take payment and keep you updated. We don't sell your information or send marketing without your consent.
Who is responsible: Wehan Jansen van Rensburg, trading as Freshly Laced, 30 Ermelo Street, Wierdapark, Centurion, 0157. As a sole proprietor, Wehan is also the information officer under POPIA. Contact: info@freshlylaced.co.za.
What we collect and why

Who we share it with
Only the services that help us run the order, each for its own part:
- Bob Box: locker bookings and PINs
- Bob Pay: payments and refunds
- Resend: sending our emails
- Supabase: our database and accounts, hosted in London
- Vercel: hosting the website
- Meta (WhatsApp): order messages, once WhatsApp is switched on
Some of these store information outside South Africa. We only use providers that protect it to a standard comparable to POPIA, and only for what your order needs.
How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept for five years, as South African tax law requires. If you delete your account, your login is removed; your order records stay for that period. Everything else is deleted or anonymised once we no longer need it.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you logged in and the site secure. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it where we don't have to keep it. Email info@freshlylaced.co.za. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
